CIFSNA WOAD Ride
Our first Annual WOAD Ride took place on May 28, 2006.
We had 12 bikes brave the cold - rainy - gloomy day
to travel from Vancouver, WA to
Glenwood, WA.
Skip, Lisa, Bruce, Rich, B4, got the CIFSNA tent set up at
Pro-Caliber, had the
coffee - donuts ready for everyone, made sure the slips were signed.
Our very own River City pipers were there to pipe us off, Michael, Laurie, Annette, Pipes and Victor on Drums. They traveled to Glenwood, played for us there, and came back to pipe us in. What a fine effort they always put forth for CIFSNA.
Lynnette and Al , Joyce and Bud went up early to set up the CIFSNA tent, to get the Games ready, and to be the judges.
The ride was beautiful, and went off without any mix-ups.
Those ridding:
Bruce, Rich, B4, John K., John U., Grady, Austin, Ray, Mike, Chuck & Stacie,
Knute, Randy. Ruthie came last to take photos along the way.
We went up Hwy 14 turned left to Hwy 141 continued to BZ
Corner, turned right
continued to Glenwood, and finally Glenwood School. After the Games, we
all ate at Shade Tree Inn, before the ride home. We split up there, 11
bikes going to Trout Lake, but Bruce said it was not too good for car travel, so
Ray & Ruthie went home the same way we came up.
We arrived at Pro-Caliber about 4:15, the band Main Squeeze was just tuning up,
they played a little then, & the rest of the bikes came in about 5:15.
Everyone was piped in by River City Pipe Band. Main Squeeze played until
about 7. Some tried to dance on the asphalt. Bud and Joyce did a
good job. Erin, Skip & Judy came to help, listen to the music. Lisa
showed some belly dancing moves, we all had a very good time. Everyone was
ready to go home and relax. Chuck & Stacie came from WAY UP NORTH to
ride with us. A very BIG Thank You for coming !!!
Also a BIG "THANK YOU" to everyone who came, or helped in any way. Many had to stay home, but are not forgotten. There was a lot done before the Ride, and we are planning now for next year. !!!
NOW see what REALLY Happened !!!
